ABC is proud to co-lead the College for All Coalition, a multiracial coalition committed to advancing educational equity for low-income and underserved students in California. Through advocacy and policy-making and direct student engagement, the coalition works to ensure access, investment, and equity in public and higher education.
The Consortium for Multilingual Learner Success is a regional collective of over 100 organizations in Los Angeles led by co-chairs, Alliance for a Better Community and Californians Together, with an advisory committee of nine organizations including academic, research, community, and policy and advocacy organizations to uplift what we know about good policies, programs, and practices for multilingual learners.
Digital Equity LA is a coalition of equity and justice advocates across LA County and California to ensure everyone has access to fast, reliable, and affordable broadband. As a member organization, ABC ensures the voices of families are heard—bringing lived experience, community-driven solutions, and a commitment to power-building to the coalition’s efforts.
ABC leads the Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) and San Fernando Valley (SFV) Education Committee’s with the purpose of convening a diverse group of community partner organizations who provide direct services, do research, and serve as policy advocates to collaborate and advocate for the communities of the SFV and SELA.
The Climate Ready Schools Coalition is a statewide alliance of education, climate, health, youth, labor, civil rights, business, and community organizations working to ensure California’s school buildings and grounds become models of climate resilience and decarbonization. The coalition advocates for policies that create healthier, safer, and more sustainable learning environments while preparing schools and communities to withstand the growing impacts of climate change.
The Equity Alliance for LA’s Kids is made up of organizations that understand the need to push for comprehensive change in order to address the systems that uphold the legacy of white supremacy. The focus is on restorative justice and English learners, and on our Black and Brown youth in LA Unified.
The ExpandLA Youth Hub Committees bring together community-based organizations to elevate youth voices and ensure they play a leading role in their communities. With the long-term goal of establishing Youth Hubs across Los Angeles County, the committees work to create safe, accessible spaces where youth can access community services.
The GPSN Collective Action group is focused on ensuring student success for all LA Unified students. The group brings together diverse stakeholders from across LA Unified’s District, from after-school service provider, advocates, labor partners and researches.
OUR LA is a multiracial, multi-generational, multi-issue, and intersectional coalition of community-based organizations and racial justice advocates committed to community voice, multiracial solidarity, power-building, racial equity, structural reform, and transparency.
Read LA! is a campaign to ensure that all of LA students can read and thrive. Focused on reversing the decades-long early literacy crisis in our city, the coalition of partners builds a movement to elevate early literacy as a top priority.
