Boyle Heights is facing a growing environmental crisis, with toxic smoke, lost income, displacement, and business disruptions affecting local residents. About Fuerza Fund
Fuerza Fund, an initiative of Alliance for a Better Community, directs resources to Latina/o-led and serving organizations across Los Angeles — groups that are chronically underfunded despite doing essential work. We invest across three interconnected phases:
Respond
Rapid, flexible resources for families navigating urgent crises — immigration enforcement, natural disasters, and acute community needs.
Recovery
Sustained investment to stabilize families, strengthen coalitions, and rebuild community infrastructure after disruption.
Resilience
No-strings-attached funding that strengthens Latino-led organizations from the inside out — building leadership, capacity, and civic power.
Proven Impact: Stress-tested through real emergencies
Since January 2025, the Fuerza Fund has mobilized over $1 million – deployed through wildfires and immigration raids. Over three years, ABC has awarded $847K in sub-grants to partner organizations across key focus areas including digital equity, civic engagement, narrative change, wildfire relief, and mutual aid.
