Policy and Advocacy Internship
The Policy & Advocacy Intern will support the Policy and Programs teams by advancing the organization’s advocacy efforts through policy research, coalition engagement, and community outreach. This internship offers hands-on experience in public policy and civic engagement by monitoring local government agendas, conducting policy research, drafting advocacy materials, supporting coalition initiatives, and assisting with meetings and communications related to the organization’s policy priorities. The intern will work closely with the policy team to identify opportunities for advocacy, strengthen relationships with community partners and contribute to initiatives that advance educational equity and opportunities for Latina/o communities.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful professional development through real-world policy and advocacy experience. Interns will gain practical skills in policy analysis, legislative research, advocacy writing, coalition-building, community organizing, and government systems while collaborating across departments on campaigns, communications, and special projects. By the end of the internship, participants will have developed a deeper understanding of how community voices are translated into policy action, expanded their professional network, and contributed to efforts that increase the organization’s presence and impact within local advocacy spaces.
