Jennifer is a cross-sector youth development professional with twenty-five years of

mission is to accelerate literacy, critical thinking, and equity in public education.
Prior to joining ABC, Jennifer served as the Executive Director of the Glendale
Educational Foundation, the Director of Education Programs and Policy at the United
Way of Greater Los Angeles, and as the Director of Digital Learning at LA’s BEST After
School Enrichment Program. Jennifer also served as a K-12 teacher in San Francisco,
Los Angeles, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Early in her career Jennifer served as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Alan Cranston
(D-CA) in Washington, D.C, where discovered her commitment to public service.
Jennifer is grateful for the sacrifices that her family made so that she could pursue
higher education. She received a B.A. in English Literature from Pitzer College and a
Certificate in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced
International Studies (SAIS). She is grateful to both of those institutions for encouraging
her to be “mindful of the future” and to study the past.
