Parent Academy is a year-long program dedicated to empowering Latina/o parents within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LA Unified). ABC’s Parent Academy serves as a platform for gathering community voices, allowing us to address the most pressing challenges our parents and students face. The curriculum spans crucial topics, including leadership development, advocacy strategies, educational empowerment, environmental justice, digital equity, civic engagement, and health and wellness. Through sessions and hands-on workshops facilitated by partner organizations, parents gain leadership capacity and foster skills needed to advocate for themselves, their families, and their communities!
Through the Parent Advocate Training Program, parents of current students in Los Angeles Unified School District (LA Unified) have the opportunity to use their leadership skills in support of improving local education policies and practices that benefit all students.
