Communications Coordinator

Lola Olvera is a Communications Coordinator at Alliance for a Better Community, where she plays a key role in shaping and implementing the social media strategy, content creation and email marketing with the goal to build an informed and engaged community. She also supports the team with communications strategy, media relations, website management, and coalition-building.

A first-generation college graduate, Lola holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach, along with specialization in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from Rice University. She brings a diverse communications background, having worked in marketing and communications for arts and culture nonprofits in Orange County. Lola is also a dedicated  volunteer with the Planned Parenthood Community Action Fund, where she advocates for reproductive rights and community empowerment. 

Born and raised in Southern California to immigrant parents from Mexico, Lola is deeply passionate about supporting organizations that uplift and empower communities. She brings an intersectional approach to her advocacy work, always striving to amplify voices and drive social change.

In her free time, Lola enjoys spending time with animals, appreciating art, and sipping on aguas frescas.
