Refugio Lopez is a financial services professional with over 25 years of compliance and regulations experience. He began his banking career with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, working at the Los Angeles Branch and San Francisco Main Office. Refugio also served on the Federal Reserve Bank’s Customer Advisory Council (CAC) for cash services, comprised of the top 25 banks in the United States.
He served as co-chair of the CAC’s Planning Committee and Emerging Trends sub-committee. In 2015, Refugio joined SureTraxx Cash Management Systems to lead this start-up software company, which provides cash management solutions to help improve profitability and operational efficiency for national retailers and financial institutions. Prior to joining SureTraxx Cash Management Systems, Refugio service as Senior Vice President and Director at Union bank leading the bank’s Cash Service Operations, including five in-house facilities in the western region and over 100 partner sites nationally.
Refugio studied at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing. He later graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington, earning a Leadership Certification in Banking. Refugio was also a founding board member of Futuro College Preparatory Elementary in Boyle Heights. He lives in Whittier with his wife and two children.
