Liliana serves as ABC’s Senior Programs Manager and is responsible for effective programming with ABC’s parent network and highlighting the intersection of the organization’s programs and policy advocacy.
Liliana leads the programs teams work to increase civic engagement through the Parent Advocate Training Program in education, ABC’s Latinx Professional Network, COVID-19 response and recovery programs, and related projects that align with ABC’s mission of improving the economic prosperity of the Los Angeles Latina/o community through advocacy and civic engagement.
For 10 years Liliana has been advocating for targeted populations including undocumented youth, Latina/o parents, and young people to have equal access to higher education. She was part of CHIRLA’s CA Dream Network from 2008 to 2011, and a volunteer with DREAM Team L.A from 2011 to 2017. She has previously worked in developing family engagement programs, adult literacy programs, and youth civic engagement curriculum with various non-profit organizations in the Los Angeles region including, South Central Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, and the San Fernando Valley.
Originally from Estado de Mexico, Mexico, Liliana has resided in South Central Los Angeles for 25 years. Liliana’s lived experiences have been her motivation to advocate for change to addresses the historic systemic oppression of Latina/o and low-income communities. She holds a BA in Political Science and would some day like to return to school to study public policy in a graduate program.
