ABC seeks create quality academic opportunities for young children during the early years of their educational experiences. By focusing on early care and education (ECE), afterschool, and parent engagement policies, ABC addresses significant issues in early education that have a lasting impact of the academic success of students.

Documented studies correlate the reading proficiency skills at the third grade level with later academic success. Students must have the necessary tools to achieve success at the elementary, middle, high school level and beyond. Quality ECE programs that are culturally and linguistically appropriate; after-school programs that address the learning needs of all students including English learners; and districts and schools that develop and implement parent engagement policies and practices help students achieve maximize their learning potential
